I'm not sure, but if your raw coursework mark was 10/30 then it would get converted to something around 15/45 for your Unit 6 total. But this really depends on the grade boundaries, and what UMS and grade this percentage would correspond to hence what coursework mark (UMS) makes up your Unit 6 total.

But assuming it's pretty much the same, if this was part of your Unit 6, and say you got 40/90, then the UMS from the paper would be 25/45.

Again, don't know what percentage of the exam paper would translate to this UMS, but if it was exact, then the mark for the paper would be something like 33/60.

EDIT: I've just looked up the grade boundaries...is the coursework CHM6/C and the paper CHM6/W? Still a lot of guesswork, but...

10/30 would probably get converted to 14/45 UMS, which means 26/45 UMS for the exam paper, so 36/60 or 37/60 for the exam, if each UMS between the grades is worth about 1.333333 marks, so 3-3.5 UMS over the boundary would mean 4.6666667 or 3.9999999... marks over the boundary for the raw mark on the paper.
thanks i think coursework is C. i get what you're saying

    and congrats to you all

Lol etc. I shouldnt really have said that - my teachers a man

So yeah, I do actually like chemistry and the real reason is because chemistry is all around us so we are constantly interacting with matter. It just seems incredible to think that there are little electrons and protons - and other things we cant see - in everything we touch.

However, if I was more intelligent, physics would be my favourite subject because its fundamental to chemistry. (At my current level of intelligence, the REAL physics thats worth knowing is too complex for me to understand.) If we can ever find "the Truth" in the universe, maths and physics will provide us with the answers.

Thats not to discredit biology though. Our experience of the world ultimately comes through our senses and is analysed by the brain. If theres one subject that can tell us more about our experience - such as how our evolution has rendered us unable to rationalize the complexities of quantum mechanics that contradict what we call common sense - its biology.

Then chemistry is stuck somewhere in between, touching big areas of physics and biology. Thats another reason why I like it.

Btw it wont allow me to type apostrophes in this reply box so sorry if parts of this are difficult to read.

Oh what do you know. It sums up what I said in jimbobismads signature:

All biology is chemistry, all chemistry is physics, all physics is maths, and all maths is imaginary.

Im not sure about the last part, but it raises the point that philosophy is fundamental to everything.
