Incase you come back to this thread, the answer is:

(-2x + 3)(x - 3)

This expands to:

-2x^2 + 3x - 6x - 9

Which simplifies to:

-2x^2 - 3x - 9

This was the original expression that you were told to factorise. :smile:

actually its not the rite answer...i fink its (-2x+3)(x+3)

because this (-2x + 3)(x - 3) actually expands to
-2x^2+3x+6x-9 =>-2x^2+9x-9

actually it wasnt wasn't wot i was to factorise...
i had to factorise, 9-3x-2x^2 => -2x^2-3x+9

ok, if u had to factorise

9-3x-2x^2 => -2x^2-3x+9

then

-2x^2 -6x +3x +9

(-2x + 3)(x + 3)

I think thats right

WTF?! Are you sure you didn't edit your first post?

I swear I must be seeing things, I read your first post with "-9" not "9". My apologies.

I factorised: -2x^2 - 3x - 9

I misread your post.
