Advice on further reading

Hi there,

I'm a EU student studying English Literature and I have 6 themes during the year which I have to discuss about for my final exam. I was wondering if you could give me some further readings linked to these 6 themes :
*before you start reading what's down below, please forgive the French Ministry of Education for these stupid title*

- The I and the eye of the writer : it deals with "autobiography" "interpretation" "expression of feelings" ...

- Meeting others, love and friendship : which I'd like to tightened to "odds couple" in literature (// Of mice and men, Steinbeck)

- The character, their figures and avatars : so myths, heroes, anti-heroes, if you know a great story linked with Scotland I would be delighted

- The writer and its time : I thought of Great Gatsby because it gives a pretty nice picture of the 1920's :dontknow:
