Applying to Uni with an HNC

Hi, I have been wondering for a long time if i chosen the right university or not...I am doing an HNC in Chemical and Process Technology which is affiliated with Strathclyde University's Chemical Engineering Program. If I pass my HNC I get entry to second year at the university...but I wanted to know if I could apply to other universities with my HNC degree. any replies would be great thanks
I'm going to Strathclyde to do mech eng and I felt they had the best course in Scotland (and one of the best in Britain). Don't know about chemical engineering but in general their engineering dept has a good reputation. You'll have to go to open days and ask around and look at unistats etc to get an idea. I presume Heriot Watt, Aberdeen and Robert Gordon are the main alternatives, but maybe that mainly applies to mech eng, although i'd have thought with its oil connections aberdeen is hot for chemical as well..
