Frequency density

help.JPGI was doing a past paper, and had all marks up until the last question.... I can't seem to understand how it is possible to work out the answer without the frequency density being given.. Would appreciate somebody explaining it thanks

The key is to work out the scale on the frequency density axis. You know the total of all the bars is 500...so if you use a scale of each little sqaure to be say "a" then you can work out the areas of all the bars in terms of "a" and hence find the value of a... and therefore the scale
