Teaching

To cut things short, I am a student who needs to earn money on the side and have
received a suggestion that I teach English.

How do I get started?

•

What's the best strategy to attracting students?

•

Where can I advertise?




I am unqualified so I would be willing to do online sessions for £5 an hour


Appreciate all the help.


P.S. Any other suggestion to earn an income would be appreciated.


So far I have:

•

Stuck adverts on several shop windows in my local area with my details

•

Went to nearly every local shop handing my CV

•

Advertised on gumtree, craigslist and Fiverr

•

Applied to nearly every job through Fish4, Monster and Directgov and have written personalised cover letters in some cases

I would send adverts to societies on campus for foreign students such as Erasmus society, and ask them to send it round their members. As you are unqualified you will have to attract people by being cheaper than other ways. Offer different options such as English conversation practice, Academic English, etc. Good luck!
