for me

a non league footballer and someone who was on Emmerdale went to my school and a guy in my year was in an episode of Waterloo Road

the Preston Manager(at the time) and a few Bolton players have visited.

I go to a private school/sixth form so we don't have a football team until sixth form :frown:

however, many avid rugby players have passed through the ranks here. Most recently, a guy who finished sixth form last year was called up for Scotland in the u20 six nations cup haha.

Another former pupil that springs to mind is a guy who is doing a degree in journalism and has been on TV interviewing Ed Milliband, Tony Iommi and others :smile:

Alien / Bladerunner/ Gladiator director Ridley Scott

and Booker prize winner Pat Barker

both studied at Grangefield School, Stockton-on-Tees at some point (Ridley for only a year or 2 I think- he was originally from South Shields). It was probably still a grammar school when both attended, now a comprehensive (in the same nice old buildings though).

I went to a normal government ran school in liverpool. Following footballer went to my school Ricky lambert (Southampton & England) Owen Coid (Blackpool) Ryan Taylor (Newcastle). Also I go to city of liverpool college and Kattina Johnson Thomas (Olympic gold medalist) left 2 years. There's been a few actors/ actresses too who have appeared in small shows

Rugby player Danny Care, I was in his sisters year, and her English class too. Ian McKellen has been numerous times to give speeches about homophobia (apparently one of the English teachers is old friends with him or something?) Mallory Blackman the author has been once too. Ricky (singer?) from Kaiser Chiefs went to the Catholic school that's near my old school if that counts?

One of Mick Jagger's Seven children went to my Sixth Form and two incredibly famous Journalists and TV presenters went there too among numerous actors and actresses.

My school's had a few rugby players, local politicians and stuff, and Jamie Dornan who's acted in Once Upon a Time and is playing the main guy character in 50 Shades of Grey
And upon looking at Wikipedia, we apparently had the guy who split the atom, Ernest Walton.

My college had Colin Morgan (who played Merlin in Merlin, the TV show) and Eamonn Holmes.

Uni, though, hasn't had all that many.
