hello i was wondering if anyone knew whether your income tax personal allowance for the tax year if paid through PAYE so calculated through the year can be claimed back if you only work say 6 months in that year and so fall under or just above the tax allowance? thankyouu!

i've only experience with the Manx system but if you pay too much tax through the year you should get it back.

In the UK can you do a student tax declaration like you can here? saying that you won't earn above the allowance so you get a "No Tax" coding?

If you've been working and paying tax through PAYE, on the understanding you'd be working the full year, then yes - you can claim back the tax. But you have to wait until the end of the tax year, I believe.
