I want to stay in a Uni hall but am only going on exchange for a semester, help?

I'm going to be going on an exchange to MMU for a Semester next year from Australia. I really really want to stay in a University Hall as I think it will be the best way to meet people etc, but I've read that you can't stay at any of the halls for only a semester. Is this true and if so what are my best options?

Hey I'm in the exact same position and was hoping for an answer to the same question! Are you starting in September 2014? Where are you from :smile:?

Also anyone else, where do erasmus/global exchange students usually stay? And like above, where can we stay if we are only staying for one semester and not the whole year?
