Talk to tutors and people at school or college before you do anything UCAS wise:smile: Having second thoughts is perfectly normal!

You have to get the universities to release you, you can't do it yourself.

that's completely incorrect.

You have the right to withdraw your application from UCAS at any time and re-apply in any given year.

You only need to be released if you intend to go through clearing or want to go to your insurance choice or something.

Just withdraw...but think about it first...we're all nervous!

yep.....there isn't some kind of "UCAS police" who arrive and drag you to university:biggrin:

Loads of people must do it...people who change their minds, their financial situation changes etc etc.

You can withdraw at any stage of the UCAS process...but it is a complete withdrawal from the system for that year.

You lose your £10 though:biggrin:

(NOTE: For gods sake check all this though...don't take my word for it)

According to UCAS themselves:

"WITHDRAWAL
If you decide to withdraw entirely from the UCAS scheme
for this application cycle (in other words, to give up all
offers or places you may be holding), you should tell us
as soon as possible, either by Track or by phone, and no
later than 30 September 2006.We will let universities
and colleges know if you decide to withdraw. If you
decide to withdraw while holding a place, and do not let
us know promptly, you could deprive someone else of
that place.
If you withdraw from the UCAS scheme, you will not
be able to enter Clearing and can have no further
contact with the universities and colleges in this
application cycle."

Well you're right, it's in the 'Advice fot applicants' UCAS booklet.

I'm more concerned about uni's 'blacklisting' me or something - like I said I'm hoping to re-apply next year.

Thanks for the help, I'd +rep you but apparently only 1 rep per day. I'll do it later.

Thanks again.

i would think they are far too busy to worry about black-listing you!
