I know it depends on how good you are, but do you think having these skills are beneficial in terms of employment..? or do you think its a dying trade, so to speak.

With regard to what you said, I'd the success of an app developer depends on what they're aiming at. Would you want to be the mind behind the idea, or just the production of someone elses idea?
