University of Hertfordshire 2014 socialising!

The name's Chesh, I'm gonna be doing philosophy, including the year abroad, at Herts starting September 2014 and I want to get to know my fellow (soon-to-be) freshers, either online or in person if anybody fancies it?

I'm always up for talking to and meeting new people, so post what course you're on, and what you're into to help make a few friends before the start of the semester!

Going to be studying business economics after wasting a year at city

Hi guys, I'll be starting Law at the university in Sept too

I was thinking of applying to city previously (City University London right?) Why was it a waste? I'd like to just know your opinion on the university.

I'm doing law at city this year when I could have been doing Econ at Herts.
City is in London but there are no societies, no activities or socials, no gym, poor/non-existent sports facilities and very few people go out to socialise.
Herts is a campus uni and has everything you could ever want. City might be able to offer you a good education (not for law as their department is terrible) but it can offer you nothing else. Herts can offer you a decent education and the best 3 years of your life.

What a beautiful post lol. My decision in rejecting City is now even more justified lol!
Ahh man that is really terrible, I'm not a big social kinda person but c'mon! What's a uni without a society? No sports clubs either? The main building at City just looks really drab and unwelcoming. But if I were you, do not regret because City is part of the whole 'University of London' thing and you do get a London education which I hear is quite prestige.
Ohai! I'll be studying physiotherapy in September  anyone had a look at the sports clubs yet; I'm fancying trampolining!

This is making me reminisce about my few months before going to Herts back in 2010, getting all excited about moving in and meeting new people. I was in Fern too. You guys are going to have the best 3 years of your life, so make the most of every minute you have because it goes by in a flash.
