Electronic and Computer Engineering - Brunel or Queen Mary?

(I realise my answers here will probably be pretty biased but try to be somewhat objective please )

Hey TSR

I've recently received unconditional offers from both Brunel and Queen Mary to study Computer Systems Engineering (BEng), however I'm not 100% sure on which to pick at the moment.

I've visited both universities on their open days but felt that Brunel University seemed a bit bare in it's facilities whereas Queen Mary seemed fully stocked. This seems pretty controversial as everyone I talk to tells me that Brunel is an Engineering specialised university and puts a large amount of their funds into that area whereas Queen Mary is much less focused on that.

On all of the University guides I've been viewing, the two universities seem practically neck and neck in terms of ratings for the course however, in terms of overall uni rating, Queen Mary seems to absolutely trump Brunel. On top of that, I'm told it's got a global prestige from it's status as one of the UoL that gives it's alumni an edge in employment.

My parents seem pretty keen on me going to Brunel however, with them telling me that I'll have a far better chance of getting a job at the end due to their specialised nature and their good career's centre.

So my question goes out to anyone who studies at either of these universities or knows them to some extent, which would you recommend I take up for this subject? Did I simply witness Brunel on a bad day and QM on a good? Which one do you think is better in this subject field?
