I saw that post, it made me laugh.

I think that's it though. A post that makes you chuckle is much more likely to get rep than a really in-depth and insightful thought-provoking post.

Very true. But often if I see someone who's put a lot of effort into a post, I'll try to rep it even if I cba to read it.

The only post I've had massive positive rep on is for saying that one of my students called me 'mum'.

Hey mum :hi:
Helping people with their homework is a good way, or just posting a funny reply. I'm still mourning the loss of neg rep
Some of my most repped comments were "I ate two pies today and I'm not even sorry" and a limerick about a woman who ****ed a dog and died.

Make of that what you will.
Act like a libertarian socialist in the politics section. Get lots of rep from fellow comrades

I'm sure I would be repped into oblivion if my enemies could down vote me.

not gonna lie, that was one mad limerick...i was working the next day and trying to think of one to rival it

Spoiler

Make comments that people are likely to agree with strongly. Correcting grammar usually gets a few reps. Raging, ranting, making long dissertations about why there should not be apostrophes in 'As' and 'Bs' and just plain being an all out Grammar Fuhrer usually gets a tsunami of reps.

P.S. Yes, I realise there were supposed to be two dots about the 'u' in 'Fuhrer'. I don't know how to get those/can't be bothered.
