ah cool, you seem to know your stuff, so answering the qs must have been a breeze. I have a couple of friends who got rejections literally 2 days after they completed the test, which is odd... emailed the bank and they said they consider all apps only after deadline, so idk what happened there. Really want this! Just a phone interview if you pass test/app. Havent done test yet, whats it like?

Haha, yeah. I was lucky at the time of doing my application Mark Carney was doing a speech so that provided some inspiration:tongue:.

The test is very different from the investment banks, a bit unconventional and more challenging but very achievable - with a focus on critical thinking. Just make sure you practice and really understand what you are doing first - it's not easy. Few materials online for it. I'm guessing they got rejected because they failed the tests? I did them about nearly two weeks ago.

That sounds great though - just a phone interview! I would love this, definitely got a lot of hope for it; it would be perfect for summer! Good luck

timing  hmm, ok, and one of them said that the test was v easy, but idk how her app qs were. I know, this interests me much more than banking, im more of a consulting person, and the economic overlap with the boe is interesting. cheers, you too. If you get an interview be sure to pm me!

Well I would have described it as okay but that's just me, haha. Yeah, this is very different and a good mix so would be really interesting! But sure thing, definitely and vice-versa!

Hey, congrats guys for passing through. Just had a quick question regarding the tests, what's it like and where can you practise them? Is it similar to numerical reasoning?

Got an email for the tests. How are they?
They are nothing like numerical reasoning. They are specialist critical thinking tests - it should say in the email the provider of them. Just Google practise tests from that provider - not many of them about though. A law firm has one on their website and I think a pracitse came in the email? I'd say it's harder than the tests the investment banks make you do but not that bad overall. Don't rush into them though.

If we get passed the tests is there an interview?

Is a timed test?

I believe there is an interview and if I remember correctly, the tests are timed.

Just out of curiosity, how long did it take you to here back after the test?

Haven't heard back, just waiting and I did them over two weeks ago. I'm guessing they would tell you if you failed them so I imagine they must re-screen our applications.

Does anyone know what the actual assessment stages are? Completed the test and just wondered what comes afterwards, I guess you need to do an interview as well. But what about an assessment centre?

thanks

nearly 100% sure this it true, both friends heard within an hour of their tests of rejection.

Ah well that's a relief! (not that your friends got rejected but the fact that I thought I hadn't done too well haha) I thought the test was easier than the numerical reasoning tests for the IBs but that's because I'm don't have a maths/economics background.

I'm waiting for a response, has anyone had a telephone interview invite yet?

in all honesty, felt much more comfortable doing this sort of work, suits my skill set more imo, so hopefully its ok! They have started reviewing apps if people have passed tests now I think, no itws yet.
