Help with student finance application

Hi my name is Steph, I have applied for a loan and a grant on student finance and they what to know my parents income but the problem is my parents are living overseas and have done for the past 8 years and can't give all the documents that they ask for. I what to know if my parents need to the give the original documents or if they can send copy's or what can you send if they don't have the document that they ask for and if anyone has had the same problem also I am a uk student not overseas student.
