Short hair is emulating a sort of masculinity that really offends my sense of femininity and I believe that as women we shouldn't attempt to emulate men.

Both Jennifers look better with long hair.

It depends on bone structure. For example Rihanna looks much better with short hair imo.

Tbh, I do think most women look better with long hair but that's just because I like long hair. You have to have the right face shape to pull off short hair - I think Anne Hathaway has it, but I don't think Jennifer Lawrence does.

Generally I would say long hair, but some women pull off short hair really well as it highlights their facial structure and helps to make some features more pronounced.

I generally prefer long hair, and having a woman's hair cascade over you during sex is extremely feminine and a real turn on.

With that said, some girls can really rock the short asymmetric hair look, so more power to them. It's the overall package that matters, not one individual attribute.

Not bothered. Depends on the face shape? Only certain faces suit certain short hairstyles. Emma Watson, Miley Cyrus and Rihanna all look horrible in short hair because they have such feminine faces. Whitney Houston and Kelly Rowland didn't look bad with short hair.

I know on me long hair looks A LOT better because my face is feminine looking, as is my hair. I have really long curly hair where the bottom layer comes to my hips. Last time I had short hair (that's shoulder length for me! :redface:

) was about 5 years ago and I hated it. I'm hoping this time next year my hair will be so long that it goes down to my butt. :gah:

I don't mind either way, long flowing locks, bobcut, pixie cut, ringlets, shoulder length straight. It's all with facial shape as people say. Some people have faces that suit both!

I completely disagree with the comment that women with feminine faces look bad with short hair - I think they are exactly the women that look best with it, particularly if also fairly petite, as they can pull off the pixie look. I am not a fan of Miley Cyrus, but I think her hair looks great at the moment, and I liked Emma Watson's short cut. Also think Charlize Theron looks amazing with pixies, and then going back you have people like Audrey Hepburn, Twiggy, Mia Farrow.

Personally I think it depends on the hair type, style, and then facial features and overall look. My hair is very straight and when it is long it goes very flat very quickly, regardless of how it is cut, so personally I think it looks better short. If you don't like short hair full stop you would probably disagree though! Some people have beautiful long hair and some people look stunning with short hair, and some really lucky people look amazing with either! I don't think you can generalise though, and I also think the comparisons at the top of this page were totally unfair - that short haired Jennifer Lawrence picture is probably the worst photo of her I have ever seen (still looks great, but not compared to how she usually looks) and Anne Hathaway was playing a dying prostitue - the cut was meant to be terrible, and she was meant to look ill!

sometimes short (e.g. pixie hair, not buzzed off or *really* short) can look really good for girls, especially when they're blonde
but usually longer is better

If you are a girl and you want to increase your chances, then you d better retain your hair long.

In my opinion, long hair. Always.

Girls can definitely still look "good" with short hair, but in terms of looking "attractive", the more feminine features you have, allowing male subconscious minds to recognise that you are a woman, and not a man, the more instinctively attractive they will find you, in most cases. I think the pattern of voting responses is testament to that.

Has to be long hair.

I know how much we try and socialise men to be unlike what they naturally are but it's very difficult to socialise them against the traditional physical sides of femininity

One day though I'm sure we'll all be gagging for flat chested girls with their hair shaved off and hips the size of a can of coke.
