Economic/Econometric Extended project

I am currently studying Maths Spanish Economics and History and was possibly considering doing an extended project next year on what factors have influenced Economic/Financial history and due to what factors, any ideas anyone?
Would like to make it really relevant to how it is influencing todays worldwide economy as i am looking to pursue a career in banking or the financial industry.

That's a hugely broad question, but a really interesting one, so I think you'd definitely have to narrow it down as there are loads of options and things to consider. :smile:
