Durham vs York

I'm trying to choose between postgraduate degrees in philosophy at the university of York and the university of Durham. I come from abroad and know very little about the schools and cities other than what can be found online. Straight facts. I'm hoping someone who has studied in either school or lived in either city can maybe give me some advice and tips that could help me choose. How is it there, how do you experience the cities and so on.

Is there anyone who has studied philosophy in either school and could recommend it and why? I am especially interested in everyday aesthetics and critical theory.

I'll bring my family with me, we are three. We love quiet time, outdoor activities and beautiful surroundings but also like to go out and engage in vibrant culture. I have difficulty figuring out which place would suit us better.
