environmental science project

HI guys. Im in my second year at uni studying environmental science and we have to start thinking about a project. The project needs to test a hypothesis and can be anything related to environmental science. I am really keen on oceanography but can't really think of anything that I could do as I don't really live near the coast. So was thinking of maybe something soil related as there are lots of woods nearby.

Anyone have any thoughts?

Nick

I'm going on to a degree in Environmental Science but as part of my access course we've had to conduct an experimental research project. I chose to look at the effect of agricultural runoff on the surrounding watercourse. It's been a really topical subject in my local area with massive algae bloom causing one of our large local lakes to be closed at the height summer, affecting the waterspouts companies operating on the lake and the local area. Also there's projects ongoing where NRW in working with welsh farmers where the water course is particularly at risk to look at how they fertilise and manage their fields to lessen the impact.

Or you could look at fracking

it's nothing to do with oceanography, but you could look at potential for landfill sites? That includes soil analysis (ie impermeability), bedrock, ecosystems and groundwater
