Would it be horrible to commute from Harrogate?

I'm trying to figure out where to live in September. Won't be able to visit Leeds until June, so I'm just researching the area now. Is Harrogate close enough to commute? Or would that be awful?

It's not a long journey from Harrogate at all, its about a half hour drive and similar on the train. If you do get the train, there's also the Leeds city bus that goes from the train station to the uni which saves the walk up. I will be commuting too from near Harrogate
