Meat eaters, defend your position

On why you eat meat.

For me, it boils to me not caring excessively about what happens to animals beyond keeping a certain amount of genetic diversity in the wild. At this point in time, anyway.

I expect I may progress my thinking at a later stage in my life.

Because I love bacon and steak.
Why do I have to defend eating meat?
Bacon... Enough said

Meat = yum = eat

Simple.
Spending time in the company of a chicken will tell you all you need to know about why it is okay to kill chickens for meat.
our digestive system is finely tuned to eat meat. vegetarians are deficient in many minerals, vitamins etc.

Because we're supposed to.

And it's bloomin' lovely.

Because I love eating meat.
Pork pibil, Confit Duck, Roast ham, Chicken katsu curry, Sausages and last but most definitely not least... Bacon
My parents aren't going to let me stop eating meat
But seriously it's delicious oh I'm craving a Chicken drumstick now
It's nice and I don't care about animals
Because it annoys the champagne-socialist middle-class veggie-fascists.
I believe I am entitled to eat some meat, since other animals eat each other too.

I know it's good for my growth and nutritional needs.

I like how it tastes.
if we don't eat them, THEY WILL EAT US
Because meat, done right, makes vegetables awesome and vice versa. Ideally you do your best to respect the life that ended to feed you though - that means trying to eat a lot (within reason) of a specific animal; eating livers, kidneys and hearts; using suet for pastry; a chicken carcass is boiled up to make stock. In my mind, it rightfully has its place in a symphony of flavour if you follow those rules of thumb.
As mankind is basically an apex predator why the **** shouldn't we eat other animals? Also; tasty-tasty, yummy-yummy!
to be honest with you I really can't - I know that I could probably live my life without eating meat and I would be making a positive impact on the inevitable change from human beings being meat eaters to non-meat eaters (at least this is my prediction because I think in the future we'll probably invent a very effective meat substitute that isn't noticeably fake like tofu/soy) but I am too hooked on the taste of meat (ham especially) and I admit I am not a very moral human being because of this and I have an awful lot of respect for vegetarians (and vegans) for actually practising a good code of morals by not perpetuating the industry of animal slaughter by consuming the products of which. maybe one day I'll face up to what I know is truly moral and become a vegetarian - because I really can't and do not deny that eating meat when it isn't strictly necessary is very immoral and the only thing I can logically justify it with is my own selfishness and disregard. if we accept that causing pain is immoral and causing animals pain for our illegitimate/unprincipled satisfaction is the justification which is not morally valid (in my opinion) then it is clear that vegetarianism is the superior moral position to take and I honestly don't think anybody can really justify meat eating morally - it would have to stand only upon "because it tastes good" and that isn't a valid excuse in my opinion because it causes pain and suffering beyond that temporary oral satisfaction

This is an easily-solved dilemma.

If we didn't eat or kill livestock, their population would grow exponentially until we were forced to feed them with our vegetative agricultural produce.

Then we'd starve while cows and pigs ate our food.

So carnivores such as myself are actually keeping the world in equilibrium.

Keep at it you beautiful meat-eaters!

Cheers,

TDWM
