Like return said, what course are you planning on doing at these particular university's? Because each university will be different in terms of the course structure.

In UCD, my 1st option is for Music but for Queen's I'm thinking of either Psychology or Music.
Then you need to work out which course you want to do - this should guide you rather than 'which Uni'. Its the course you will study for 3 years and your enjoyment of the subject(s) will be decisive in the likelihood of a good degree results and a good 'University experience', You can go to the nicest Uni in the world but if you hate the course it will be a very long, and very miserable, three years.

For any course in Psychology you need to check that it is validated by the BPS (http://www.bps.org.uk/bpslegacy/ac). Without this you wont be able to use it in an clinical/professional setting. The single honours in Psychology at Queens is validated. There are of course, combination courses for Music and Psychology (Glasgow, Ulster and Bath Spa as examples) where you could do these subjects together. What would you do career wise with a degree in Music; any plans?

Its not clear if you have applied this year or are only thinking about applying for next year? If you are pre-application, you might find this article useful http://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/wiki/help_choosing_a_subject or if you are trying to make a Firm/Insurance choice, read this one http://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/wiki/firm_and_insurance_choices

Sorry for being confusing :P In UCAS my firm offer is Queen's for Psychology, while my insurance is Music in Queen's. But in my CAO, my first option is Music in UCD. I'm thinking of becoming a music psychologist so at they are both good degrees to start of with. I like UCD it is a beautiful location it is a huge campus. In UCD, you can choose to do UCD Horizions where you can pick 2 elective modules outside of your area of study to deepen or expand your knowledge. So I'm thinking of doing a psychology module and another module (haven't decided on that yet! :P). The Music course also looks really good and something that I would love to do for 3 years. But the Psychology course in Queen's is also really good and Queen's is probably closer to my home than to UCD, Most of my friends are also planning on going to Queen's aswell.
So what do I do? Take the leap and go to UCD to study Music or stick with what I know and go to Queen's? :L
