Genetics- someone please help!

Ive just finished my 2nd year at uni, and Im really, really struggling with Genetics, I dont know why, I just cant seem to grasp it. I dont want to go into my last year still not having a clue!

I have to resit one of my exams next week and am getting nowhere with revision. Can anyone recommend any good books, websites etc that provide easy to understand info? My uni library isnt that good and I cant seem to find anything helpful.

umm.. my cousin uses this book called "biology by arms and camp"...(she studies biology but shes in lebanon now :frown:

) i use it sometimes aswel..its really useful..

I would strongly recommend either 'Genetics, Analysis of Genes and Genomes' by Hartl et al or 'Genetics, From Genes to Genomes' by Hartwell. Which kind of genetics is it? Like the cellular portion, or inheritance, or populations or what?
For population genetics (and probably other things too but I only got it for pop) there's a Primer that I think is by Hartwell (or it might Hartl - it was one of them! :biggrin:

) which is really good for an overview

If you find genetics really difficult, and need an overview of the key concepts, then 'Biology' by Campbell does it quite nicely. You shouldn't buy it because it doesn't contain enough detail to be worth it, but the overviews should help you grasp the basic concepts, and allow you to then follow this up with more detailed reading.

I believe it is quite a common first-year textbook, so your library should stock it.
