Never has the phrase "it must have been a pop-up" been more life-saving.

(If, of course, you will pardon the pun).

Basically, I didn't read that this website said 'Click on this and £5 will be added to your phone bill.'

Thing was, I was connected to my home wifi, not my phones wifi.

Will I be charged?

Just checked my phone bill, no charges.

Checked my parents internet bill so far- no charges.

Really worried, will it come up, how so because I haven't entered credit card details or anything!

Call up your provider and ask them to 'whack it off'

Invite your friends over ASAP, and when the parents get the bill say it was them.

Do you have a sibling? Blame them

Blame hackers getting into your wifi (maybe point to a BBC article on something similar)

Act shocked.

Insist on upgrading router and get angry at your parents for not having done so already.

Ride the wave.

Sounds like you're in a bit of a sticky situation.

Go now and tell them you got redirected to a site whilst you was doing homework and automatically charged you £5 for something and you don't know what.

When your parents ask you about it say you have an article about hackers. When you can't find it (because you made it up), just tell them you can't get it up.

Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeah!

Tell them you clicked on an Ad saying "win an ipad" and it led you to a porn site
Too busy laughing at your expense to be able to offer any useful advice pal XD
The innuendo in most of the comments on here is amazing

Did you get them your phone number / bank details?

Doesn't work when the bill has the date on it.
Pretty sure they can't charge you...... you would have had to enter a phone number or credit card info, and if you did that then you are retarded.
oh **** you trhat seems to have blowen up in your face you are balls deep in trouble
you entered no information...it seems odd a charge would be added to your phone bill via this route tbh, sure it wasn't spam? I'd check your PC for malware and such for a start.

If it shows up, say you clicked on a pop-up or....blame your dad? Lets hope the porn isn't too risque
You'd have to enter in credit card details first, so you're probably alguds.
Is this actually possible for them to do?
