No but I believe different cultures instill different work ethics and ways of bringing kids up such that certain ones perform better than others. The stereotypical example here would be Asian cultures.

Order looks dodgy but I was kidding anyway. I think Europeans wouldn't be so high on that list in the past and Indians would be joint top with East Asians to reflect contribution to science, mathematics and the arts.

I think the list changes as the prosperity of those nations switches around.

It depends how you define smart, but in the classic sense, you can't argue against the statistical evidence that some races are on average smarter. Now for the speculation... I don't believe it's to do with genes, but culture, wealth and how lucky you are to have had a good/bad education. i.e. asian parents having high expectations of their kids, and in some asian countries, people have a much better work ethic than here in the UK.

Yes.

Though I'd be much more certain about it if they were somehow raised by the same family. There are too many variables in socialisation and importance of different aspects of intelligence, even among the middle classes, to be sure.

It is highly probable that they would turn out similarly. Assuming that they went to the same schools had the same quality teachers, classmates, etc. Engaged in similar activities. There are so many variables when it comes to intelligence. And then of course you have to know what it is you are actually trying to identify. What kind of intelligence?

Those statistics were based on a study carried out on American students. The situation here is very different. North Asian students do better at secondary school, however, Whites have a higher rate of return to higher education in later life and do vastly better at university.
