I want to drop out of textiles and join nursing/midwifery!

I have no idea what to do. I feel like I'm doing textiles just as a 'hobby' because I wasn't confident enough in sixth form to push to join a science degree, so I took the safer option and went into arts, due to horribly low self-esteem and depression.

However, after spending almost a year in textiles I know it's not what I want to do and kick myself everyday for not choosing midwifery or nursing.

I'm just wondering how I would go about changing; I could take a year out and reapply with UCAS for Sept 2015 OR I could do an Access to HE course in health and science (which is what a lot of uni's accept) in that year and then apply for midwifery or nursing in 2015.

My problem with doing an Access course is the cost. I'll be 19 when I start it, so will have to pay; but I have no money! Is there any finding people know of that could help me out? I did look into Open University but I don't think they do the right courses.

I just need advice!
