Unable to get a job as a law graduate

I'm in need for advice. I realise the legal market is tough. I'm a law graduate with a 2.1 double degree in English law and French Law from a top 10 uni. I'm currently enrolled on an LLM course at a good London Uni. Since graduating in July 2013 I have been unable to even secure an internship or a vac scheme. I've completed internships at law firms abroad but UK law firms do not seem to value these experiences at all which is disappointing. I've also engaged with extracurricular activities. After applying to a select bunch of firms, I only secured 1 vac scheme, all the rest were rejections (I didn't even get to the AC stage).

I need some advice on what I should do? Should I apply to high street law firms? I find it very strange that I'm actually considering applying to high street firms with my qualifications and I am heavily in debt having taken out loans for both my undergraduate and postgraduate studies.
