KCL: Halls or Apartment

Ive firmed my offer for KCL undergrad starting in 2014.

Im now in the process of applying for accommodation but Im lost. I would love to have the chance to be able to visit beforehand but I won't as Im in Northern Ireland.

Does anyone have any advice as far as accommodation goes for University of London, specifically King's? Im assuming as a humanities student my classes will mainly be located at the Strand Campus. Closest to this is StamfordStreetApartments but Ive been hearing bad things about the social life there (surely it'd be up to the individual to be social!?). I would like to be in halls with a lot of other students (i think) just to make the initiation process of moving away to such a huge city easier, but again I don't even know if thats what i really want.

Theres intercollegiate, which I'm very unsure about. I think i could do without catered as I know I wouldn't like the food. They seem a bit far out but in a nice area near regents and hyde park etc.

Any help/feedback is really really appreciated. Bit stuck here!
