Oxidation of alcohols and reduction of carboxylic acids whats happening?

Hi everyone, I have kind of ropelearned what was going on ie I know a secondary alcohol for example CH3C(H)(OH)CH3 will be oxidised to a carboxylic acid but im not sure which one? what process is actually going on apart from "adding a O atom in the chain" plzzz help exams are soon and I KNOW THIS IS A KEY CONCEPT

you can't oxidise secondary alcohol to carboxylic acid, the furthest a secondary alcohol can be oxidised is a ketone. in this case you will form propanone.
