Help with Degree Classification?

Hi Guys, my 2nd year of University is weighted at 25% whilst my 3rd at 75%. If I were to average 50 overall in my second year, what overall percentage in my third year would I need to get in order to get an all round 60? 62.5 right? Not particularly great with maths :colondollar:

A bit more than that.

The calculation is 60(50×0.25)0.75\displaystyle \dfrac{60 - (50 \times 0.25)}{0.75}

I need to get 75 to get 60 overall? That can't be right.

65?

Is this a guessing game?

I guess 63.3%
I'm terrible at maths... all you need to do is use a calculator :P
64 on the dot for 61.5% :biggrin:

Are you sure?
I used a calculating tool :P
http://www.benegg.net/grade_calculator.html
60 x 4 = 240
240 - 50 = 190
190 \ 3 = 63.3

Easy peasy.

This thread makes me fear for the future of the human race.
I'm not good at math at all, so I just use the grade calculator on essaysworld
