When applying for accommodation, what do they mean by "designated quiet area"?

I think it means that you'd be put in a flat/room with other people who had said they wanted a quiet area, and maybe all those flats/rooms would be near each other to create a sort-of quiet zone.

Actually, I've found, it also means there is a silence policy between 23 and 7.

For now, I've kept it... Although I'm not too sure I'll stick with it - after all, how noisy can these places get?...

[and apparently in these areas they try to put "mature" students together]
