GCSE history - how to structure and answer the questions properly?

Hiya,
I'm pushing to get an A in history, but in all the practice papers I've done I'm always one or two marks off an A and its always HOW I answer the question that lets me down, rather than the actual knowledge - was hoping someone could shed some light on how to structure answers to some of the OCR GCSE history questions?
Thank you!
In year 10 we got told these structures for history from lesson 1

4 mark question
2 developed points i.e 2 paragraphs

6 mark question = D.I.P.A.D.O
D = description of the source e.g cartoon or speech
I = Interpretation is it french german etc
P = PURPOSE OF SOURCE e.g cartoons mock, speech to get elected = 2 MARKS
A = POINTS THAT AGREE WITH SOURCE = 2 MARKS
D = POINTS THAT DISAGREE WITH SOURCE = 2 MARKS
O = overall conclusion do you agree with statment and why
*WRITE ALL OF THESE BECAUSE YOU
MAY GAIN MARKS IN SOME OTHER PARTS OF
YOUR ANSWER

10 mark question = D.E.A
D = describe event shouldn't be more than 1/2 page max
E = explain link to question
A = assess importance of event refer to statment given in question
+ overall conclusion

TIMES
4 MARKER = 5 MINS
6 MARKER = 10 MINS
10 MARKER = 15 MINS

timing may take a while to get used to but is very easy once you have the hang of it

if you need examples then please don't hesitate to message me
