Percentage Error

Can someone please give the formula for percentage error and an explanation on how to work it out? Say if I was doing a titration, how would I calculate % error? (AS Chemistry)
Uncertainty divided by number x100

Depending on what you want but the general rule of thumb is:

Smaller number/ bigger number X 100

But if you're wondering the percentage error of an equipment (which is what I guess you mean), more specifically it's:

The amount the equipment could be wrong (eg a meter ruler - 0.001 meters or 1mm)/ by the value you got X 100

eg 0.001m /2.19m x100 = 0.046%

I hope you understood!
