Queen Mary experience

Still stuck between Kent of Queen Mary university...(I HAVE TO FIRM BY TOMORROW!)
I have spent a lot of time in Kent and think I have a good idea of what the place is about, but my insight into Queen Mary isn't so great.
What is student life like at Queen Mary? I mean, It's regarded as a highly academic Russel Group university, but will I get the 'student experience' too?
I know it sounds ridiculous, but I want uni to be more than just about my degree, I want to have the stupid typical drunken unforgettable experiences as well, but I'm slightly worried that the uni is so centered on just good grades or sports clubs that it maybe doesn't encompass this aspect too?
Anyone with any insight, any comments are enormously useful!

Think about it, Queen Mary is in East London, you're only 10 or so minutes from central and you've got LOADS of clubs and bars to go to. I've had some of the best experiences of my life from living here and meeting people at Queen Mary.
