    Feedback appreciated please

Does it look professional? If you saw a site like that would you buy from it? (assuming it had what you were looking for) or is it one of those sites that you look at and get put off?

Theres a few things im aware of that need changing, the graphics for New and Used for the sub categories and the red My Account at the bottom (i know how to get rid of it but im trying something out).

    Please be honest :p:

    It's good, looks very 'now'.

Not a traditional e-store layout, not a bad thing though.

To be brutally honest, I wouldn't buy from there. It looks far too much like a bedroom outfit with that design.

What a brilliant job you did of installing that Joomla theme.
    Everybody enjoys sarcasm.
I care more about the content then the rest of it.
The main part is the forum. Where i add all my notes.
I'd rather spend a couple of hours installing and bridging smf and joomla, then 20 hours adding notes. then the other way around.
I made about 3 other sites prior to this, that were too static to add lots of notes so it was functional, and i found myself spending too much time making them rather than benifiting from them.

Nice site, though I'm not sure I would buy from it... I don't generally buy much online anyway.
Personally my biggest dislike was the background.

Any ideas how to make it look more professional without doing a whole re-design?

Would a decent looking logo help? The text in the top right looks a bit noob, i know :p:

There are a few dead images here and there - seem to be pointing to the root of the images folder, might not have added the right image from a template?

If you're aiming to be more professional, I'd suggest not using individual personal terms like "I", use "we" instead.

You might also want to use an SSL certificate on the registration and login pages.

Design wise, I feel something is missing, I'm not sure what though. It seems rather open - maybe some more colour or imagery?

Just a few suggestions but hope it helps

    What images are missing?

    http://game-played.co.uk/psp-c-24.html

If you mean the new and used ones there, then im working on them, well not personally, might pay someone for them.

SSL is expensive, the payment is protected because that's through PayPal. I know I should get it really but I dunno. Been suggested a few times now (on other forums).

About I and We, will get rid of that intro soon with something better, just stuck it there so it wasnt blank :p:

I think images would help make it look better. If i get the new and used images done and maybe a decent logo it should look a fair bit better.

    Thanks for your suggestions

Yep, it seems to be the images that have the alt text "New" and "Used". Also, the logo on the PS1 page seems to be missing.

Fair dos, the payment processing is the most important bit to have secure which is covered by PayPal anyway.

No probs, hope it all works out

How did you get the S symbol/logo to display in the address bar before http?

Try that, should show you how to do it.

This is probably the main bit though

Right inside the <head> section, you may find some meta tags and link tags. Leave them as such and look for the line that says </head>

Just above the closing head tag, add the following lines:

    <link rel="icon" href="www.abc.com/myicon.ico" type="image/x-icon" />
    <link rel="shortcut icon" href="www.abc.com/myicon.ico" type="image/x-icon" />

The value of href will have the full permanent link of the ico file which you copied in Step 3.

    HERES MINE!!!

Made for my sisters wedding photography business using flash.

    www.justmarried-photography.co.uk

I havn't have any real crit from anyone other than 'yeah its nice', so if anyones got anything for me, give me a shout

    w00tttttt
You shouldn't make the user wait for such a long time for the flash to load. Statistics show that if a site doesn't load within 4 seconds, customers get impatient and leave the site.

updated a few things and added some more content. Think I am pretty much done just need to add the actual content to the pages,(create exercises/lessons etc) and create a site map page.

Should my site map page be in the same template as the rest or should it be blue links on a white background v.accessible simple, or a combination, say peach background with black links on it?

Any opinions welcome, its for my btec module and a pain in the arse lecturer...

Is there any need for a site map when you only have 8 or so pages? In my opinion a site map is no replacement for a good navigation system; a site shouldn't NEED a map to get around if it's well designed.

But if it's for a project (school) then it's best to include as much as possible and basically show off - even if there are only 8 pages.

Looking good so far, but one thing I would add is a logo next to your site name - above the box.

Did you code the search function? Or was it part of OSCommerce?
