    just a simple blog page designed with a template.

    It's not a work of art, but I'd be very grateful if people were to comment on the site posts themselves (forms are under each post)

    I did some of the coding work on this website, do a heck of a lot more of content work instead.

    Having the age old trouble of struggling to get a regular traffic stream. Any tips, aside from advertising, which I feel is relatively useless anyway?

    oh and edit to the above. Again it's just a simple template, but I think the new format is much better suited: http://thefzine.com

    My opinion:

    Although it is a simple template, it feel it's maybe a little bit too simple/basic. Just something like a couple of images or even just a gradient background could make it look a bit more interesting, instead of simple black on white.

    Also not a fan of the font you're using. Although that's entirely a personal thing, but I prefer Calibri or Trebuchet MS.

    Erm, not much else to say really. Maybe more consistency in link colours would be good, eg: You have some links as black, some as light blue, others as red, the twitter thing as green.

    Edit: Oh yeah, this is my main website if anyone wants to review it :P -> Nyxre

    Cheers, yeah I'll try and get some uniformity with links etc, see if I can sort out the Twitter page aswell. Not really sure if I can alter it, it seems to be a non-flexible widget from the original twitter site.

    Could people let me know what they think of http://www.springymedia.com, it's the site for my business.

    I know it's being a bit buggy in firefox, and I'd love to know how it's behaving in IE, I know it works great in Safari

    On older browsers your website wouldn't render at all, it would simply be a blank page.

    In your HTML (on pretty much every page) you have got:

    HTML Code:
    <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
    <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
    <head>

    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8" />
    <title>Springy Media | Home</title>
    <meta name="description" content="Welcome to Springy Media, handling all your writing needs."
    <title>Untitled Document</title>
    <style type="text/css">
    The description meta tag is missing a finishing '>' bracket. This may sound trivial but if someone is on a very old browser, it may simply not be able to make sense of the HTML.

    Hi, thanks for picking me up on that. does simply missing off that tag stop it from rendering? and will putting it back in sort the problem out?

    Thanks

    Blimey looking at the code brings back memories of 2005, i.e. table-based layout, and a few other obvious no-nos, for example common CSS not being pulled from an external stylesheet, no H1/H2 tags, you're missing your most important keywords in your title "writing & marketing", a border around your header image on all pages but your first one (I guess with an external stylesheet, this wouldn't have happened), and there's plenty more.

    If you want to do this by yourself, check out w3schools, htmldog.com and sitepoint (and it's forums). Otherwise, I'd have thought, just like you're advertising your business, you should seek professional help with getting this in order (simply by missing the h1 tags and the keywords in your title, you're losing big opportunities for search engine traffic, but of course, there's so much more where you could optimise with regards to this).

    Don't get me wrong, I like the general design of it, just not how you converted it to html.
