Alright sorry if I sounded harsh... Just been applying for jobs and got a JSA meeting tomorrow.

Hope the site takes of tbh... A couple of questions if you don't mind answering

    1) How many people are part of this business idea?

    2) Do you think you will make hundreds/thousands or millions?

    3) Are you working full-time on it?

    4) How much have you invested in making this website? Marketing etc...

    5) how much did you pay someone to make the website? (if you did)
    1) 2

    2) Haha! as much as possible!

    3) not at the moment, we are currently looking for investment to build the whole website if we get it then we will make it full time.

    4) about £800

    5) £100

Yeah, get rid of flash. I don't have a fancy iPhone or iPad so I can't test whether this site has a fallback, but I'm guessing it doesn't.

I'm not, but you are aware Flash doesn't work on any apple devices, so iPhones or iPads, which make up a huge part of the smartphone/mobile browsing market.

Regardless, you should'nt have Flash on a mobile site at all. Mobile sites need to be designed for speed and functionality, not fancy like on a computer. And looking at your mobile site now, it's not optimised for mobile browsing at all. It's not responsive and it doesn't look any different to the main site really.

Flash is dying and splash screens like yours are considered pretty old-fashioned and tacky.

Could someone check this site out I just made?

    http://bluegiraffe.markbrewerton.co.uk

Constructive C&C would be very welcome

I might buy a domain for it soon but right now I think using it in a subdomain works fine.

The idea is interesting but we're here to talk about website design and development. And sadly you've paid £100 (very cheap) for a fairly lousy product.

Hi Ashley, I appreciate that you want to get feedback for your website however I suggest that you participate to the community and give feedback to other peoples websites first, otherwise it does look good on you.

well, i clicked on this forum page of intrest so dont really know what to be looking for,

the one thing is in the pictures the edges seem to be jagged in some of them and it justs makes it look a little less refined,

also the red book and blue book look like they overlap and are part of the same book almost :P
i like the coulor scheme and stuff though

Looks clean, Facebook and RSS links don't work though. Are you really going to do 3 pages for £20, and pay when happy? Three pages should take ~1 hr, + domains + time to do initial template, is it really worth your time?

    But your site looks good!

Do you have a portfolio? People are less willing to contact you without solid examples.

Inline styling, dodgy background images and clip-art (those circles?), images where there should be text... Your layout isn't too bad but I think you need to work on your basic webdesign principles before you start looking to get paid to do this.

I have a really good idea for a website, but, unfortunately, my brother does not want to help. It's a social/sharing site with a big, important difference.
