Re: The 'What do you think of my website' thread1) 2(Original post by mangoh)
Alright sorry if I sounded harsh... Just been applying for jobs and got a JSA meeting tomorrow.
Hope the site takes of tbh... A couple of questions if you don't mind answering
1) How many people are part of this business idea?
2) Do you think you will make hundreds/thousands or millions?
3) Are you working full-time on it?
4) How much have you invested in making this website? Marketing etc...
5) how much did you pay someone to make the website? (if you did)
2) Haha! as much as possible!
3) not at the moment, we are currently looking for investment to build the whole website if we get it then we will make it full time.
4) about £800
5) £100 -
Re: The 'What do you think of my website' threadI'm not, but you are aware Flash doesn't work on any apple devices, so iPhones or iPads, which make up a huge part of the smartphone/mobile browsing market.(Original post by ShowerMan)
when you view the mobile site how does it show for you?
and what are you viewing on?
Regardless, you should'nt have Flash on a mobile site at all. Mobile sites need to be designed for speed and functionality, not fancy like on a computer. And looking at your mobile site now, it's not optimised for mobile browsing at all. It's not responsive and it doesn't look any different to the main site really.
Flash is dying and splash screens like yours are considered pretty old-fashioned and tacky.Last edited by fran.ha; 23-07-2012 at 14:47. -
Re: The 'What do you think of my website' thread
Could someone check this site out I just made?
http://bluegiraffe.markbrewerton.co.uk
Constructive C&C would be very welcome
I might buy a domain for it soon but right now I think using it in a subdomain works fine. -
Re: Give me your reviews please! What is the music in the background of the site? Sounds useful. Is it freely available?(Original post by ShowerMan)
A friend and i came together and thought of this in regards to young people getting noticed in this competitive job climate
we haven't officially launched yet
but check out our page and two videos and let us know what you think
postive criticism please don't be too harsh

Re: The 'What do you think of my website' threadThe idea is interesting but we're here to talk about website design and development. And sadly you've paid £100 (very cheap) for a fairly lousy product.(Original post by ShowerMan)

Re: The 'What do you think of my website' threadAnyone able to look at this?(Original post by Toppy)

the one thing is in the pictures the edges seem to be jagged in some of them and it justs makes it look a little less refined,
also the red book and blue book look like they overlap and are part of the same book almost :P
i like the coulor scheme and stuff though

Re: The 'What do you think of my website' threadLooks clean, Facebook and RSS links don't work though. Are you really going to do 3 pages for £20, and pay when happy? Three pages should take ~1 hr, + domains + time to do initial template, is it really worth your time?(Original post by Afradeetee)

But your site looks good! -
Re: The 'What do you think of my website' threadDo you have a portfolio? People are less willing to contact you without solid examples.(Original post by Afradeetee)

Re: The 'What do you think of my website' threadInline styling, dodgy background images and clip-art (those circles?), images where there should be text... Your layout isn't too bad but I think you need to work on your basic webdesign principles before you start looking to get paid to do this.(Original post by Afradeetee)
