Best car for 10k?

As the title says, what is the best car you can get for 10k?

Used, new, auto or manual. I know it's quite broad, but just want to get an idea of whats out there for that budget.

E46 M3
Mercedes E class.

You will only get a 2.0 litre or something like that but they are very nice

2010/2011

There is one on autotrader now for around £9000 which is a 3.5 Litre 2011 I just checked

You could also get a CLC/C Class and these probably would be newer

I wouldn't get an M3 because although it is a great car, I am told the insurance is through the roof (but you may want to check that)
BMW 7 series, Vauxhall Manaro, Volvo S60R, merc s class, bmw e39 M5, BMW M3, the list is endless, my advice would be spend 5k on something special and spend the rest on insurance and maintenance.

I did say there was also a 3.5

Yeah you could depends on whether you want an old one or not.

Plus most people won't be racing so having a car that inefficient is usually useless, not to mention the increased insurance and road tax

Would have to look around for one for 10k but I'm sure there is some.
