I guess sarcasm didn't work...

Shut up

It's pretty difficult to portray sarcasm on a keyboard. They should have an emoji!

Sorry, so what is your position in the NAACP again?

And for the record Dre only owns 25% of Beats by Dre. And the whole idea was bought to him by Jimmy Iovine. The white man.

apple are in talks to acquire beats for $3.2 billion

dre only has a 25% stake in beats; after tax he will be left with a cool $600 million.

Apparently his net worth will be $800 million. Only $200m more than Diddy.

People gas Dr Dre to be some great, astute businessman. He's not.

The white men surrounding him are the great businessmen, Dre's just going along with the flow.

How good a businessman do you have to be to say "yes" to three billion dollars?

All im saying is there would be no beats by dre without Jimmy Iovine.

Similarly, 50 cent would not have cashed out on a $150 water deal without chris lighty. How many business deals has fifty cashed out on since lighty's death? 0.

And he's not saying yes to 3 billion, he is saying yes to $600 million after tax. Ironic he's not even majority shareholder in the company that bears his name:rolleyes:

Whatever. It's his George Foreman grill - vastly more than he ever made making music. $600m after tax is the final payoff. No need to do anything ever again - it's all downhill.

Why is that hard to believe? Dr dre is a successful artist who has made his mark in the hip hop genre.

He's made more money selling beats than he's ever made with his music alone

Hmm.. You could say he is a successful artist/entrepreneur. Although, his music seems to nearly always reach billboard level

The OJ trial turned into a race debate (which America happens to have a terrible history with, particularly regarding the treatment of Native and African Americans) which resulted in the verdict, likewise the surprising Trayvon case (can't believe the verdict for that either) ...I want to see what happens with this Oscar case, it should be interesting...

The point im making is, it's not really his.

it just has his name on it.

nobody wants to buy beats by Jimmy Iovine, a 60 year old white man.

But fair play to him, he's done very well for a guy from Compton.

I can understand with the Trayvon case, with the technicalities of murder etc. it had to proved that Zimmerman when he left his car had the intent to murder etc.
it's not just as simple as asking did Zimmerman kill Trayvon, which a lot of people didn't grasp.
On the evidence, as accepted, Zimmerman rightfully walked imo.

but re: OJ, it's just a huge miscarriage of justice. Guy clearly has no regard for the law, and was later indicted for an armed robbery of a casino.

Why are people discussing American cultural issues and affairs on a British forum? Weird.
