food in halls

just wondering what on average is up for eats in catered halls @ reading generally. any info from current students is much appreciated! im a vegetarian... :redface:

what sort of options r there? charrrrrs

i was in childs last year and there was always a veggie option, only 1 i think tho. there was always salad and cooked veggies and some form of potatoes, and in the summer there were baguettes, oh and jacket potatoes. so you wont starve, it just might get a little samey. but it does that whether ur a veggie or not :biggrin:

just done expect anything amazing cos they do have to cater for hundreds of people.

Yes... pretty much every meal, or some variation on chips.

Halls food isn't too bad, when I was in Childs a year ago it was ok, you tend to get the same things on a fairly regular pattern the typical stuff was battered fish, curry, pie, chilli with the normal array of veg; mashed potato, swede, chips, peas, beans or baked beans.

The veggie option was usualy fairly good from those I knew who were veggies.
