I have a feeling Electrolytes may come up again, as I doubt many people did well on electrolyte question last year! But otherwise it's near possible to tell, how's revision going for you?

You need to know when they pump the blood to, like the aorta pumps blood all around the body, etc, and also be able to say that is why the left ventricle wall is thicker so that is can generate a higher/greater pressure when it contracts so the blood can be pumped all around the body~

And also mine is tomorrow at 9:15! Is yours the same?

I found the exam really in the middle, the way some of the questions were worded was just awkward to understand! The last questions were nice I found~ But I didn't like the staining questions, and if you remember what did you put for two safety precautions of making a blood smear? I said wearing sterile disposable gloves as well as sterile equipment?

Also how prepared are you for F222 on Monday??? I'm so happy it's an afternoon one so there is time to re-cap before the exam!!!

Oh and also how did most people you know taking it find it?

and also do you have any casestudy questions you have prepared??I really need them...

It was one of those exams that I just can't tell how I did! Some questions were not bad and there were some that were horrible! How did you find it? And also do you have any idea what phosphate does?!

I found it okay, a few questions were worded very strange like the 8 marker on growth of organ systems etc. I believe it is for development of healthy bones and teeth well that's what I put anyway and is what it says in the textbook! did you write anaphase 2 for where non disjunction occurs?

Yes that one really confused me! Ahh good that's what I wrote too! No I wrote prophase 1 but that was a complete guess meiosis is not my strong subject!

Yes me too!
Hey guys,
I thought the arterioles, capillary and venules question was quite hard too because I sort of got mixed up with veins and artery. Like for venules I said they has watch pocket valves to prevent back flow but that is talking about veins. Would they mark me down for that? The exam today was quite hard
What did you guys put for that 8 mark questions talking about embryonic stem cells when they are at 8 cell stage? I started first by talking about how differentiation occurs like how genes get switched on and off, complex pathway of chemical signaling and etc. Then I gave example of a stem cell differentiating to become a nerve cell by building up on smooth endoplasmic reticulum and mitochondria for the myelin sheaf and ATP to reform rhodopsin. For an example of a reproductive I could only think of how a cell differentiates to become a sperm, I don't think I got that part right.

I panicked so much on it I just wrote about differentiation into specialised cells that then form tissues and then organs and so on, I think I have the example of the respiratory system and then said about how they form gametes but to be honest I chatted complete rubbish the whole way though!

'I chatted complete rubbish' can see why!

The exam was an easy one I think, but the 8 marker on stem cells as others said was the only challenging thing in my eyes. Overall quite a good paper.
