imagine we have a block and the block is suspended into water by a rope, so will the tension in the rope equal the weight of the object?

No the tension will be less, as the object will displace some water and will experience an upwards force variously called "upthrust" or "buoyancy". This will support some (if the object is more dense than water) or all (if the object is less dense than water) of the objects weight.
