Camp Leaders/America Lifeguard

Hi there,

Can someone please help me out here.. Looking to do Camp in 2015 and was wondering how the specific jobs allocation works as someone I know said you don't apply for a life guard, you list your qualifications/experience and they give you a job.

It's life guarding I really want to do and am doing my NPLQ course next month.

1) Will this help me get that specific role at camp?

2) Will it still be valid next year?

3) Will I still have to do the American Red Cross Lifeguard course down in Manchester next april if I go through camp leaders?

Thanks for your help guys and sorry if any of these are stupid questions.
Camps look out for skilled persons early in the year, i got placed in january 4 days after my application became placeable. Camps find it very difficult to fill their lifeguard roles through lack of qualified people applying.

1) If you're applying you will be classed as a skilled counselor the nplq is what the camps will be interested in and you will be allocated lifeguard and water front roles.

2) NPLQ's are valid for 2 years

3) My nplq was recognised by the camp that is employing me.
