Non Western immigrants a net burden to Western countries.

Denmark has some of the tightest immigration regulations in the EU and the report, based on the findings from five ministries, found they had saved the tax payer millions of pounds that would have been spent on social assistance and housing for immigrants from outside the EU.

"Now that we can see that it does matter who comes into the country, I have no scruples in further restricting those who one can suspect will be a burden on Denmark," Soren Pind, the centre-right liberal integration minister, told the newspaper Jyllands-Posten.

The report found immigrants from non-western countries and their decedents cost the country £1.8 billion a year while those from western countries contributed to the economy.

Also, the report was writen by a VERY anti-immigration political party: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Danish_People%27s_Party. While I have not read the report (it wasn't provided by the Telegraph, what joy) my first thought is that it may have had a biased approach when measuring the impact of non-western immigration. But who knows! xD

I am not saying that all Non Western immigration is bad, only that it needs to be much better managed.

Mass immigration is a free market capitalist policy and i suspect the new Danish government, like Labour in Britain, have been lobbied by big business and corporate interests to open the borders. Shame.

could you provide the link for that? AFAIK immigrants of so-called "Eastern Europe" (most of them from central or southern part of the continent) living in UK are less likely to claim benefits than native Brits. Also, countries like Spain have insane youth unemployment (compared to the rest of Europe)
