I love humanity. I think if the behaviours and opinions of others are able to get to you then you're probably a vulnerable, weak person.

This is something I have started to notice; it has been a slight theme among people I know, but even more extreme among online people who call themselves "introverts" or "misanthropes", people who claim they hate humanity. They seem to think their immature, angst-ridden, nonsense, somehow sets them apart from others and think it makes them more interesting, when they claim everyone else is "boring" and "fake" (yet most people I hear saying this, spend all their lives either gaming or binge-watching TV...). I just think this needs to be said, this is not introversion, this is is messed up.

Not saying that every who says this has SPD, but these things do exist along a spectrum

*steps off soapbox*

What I've gathered from reading this, is that you don't hate people who dislike humanity, you hate introverts.

Hahaha  yeah obviously some people are pussies, but on the whole a little bit of angst is a good thing IMO

I am pretty introverted myself

but I don't claim I am better and that everyone else is stupid, boring, vapid, generic etc and that that is why I hate them

Generic, average, likes going out with the girlies xoxoxo/drinkz wiv the lads, football/TOWIE, etc, you know what in talking about. Nothing special about them

That does make a person boring Tyrion, it means they have interests that you do not share, that does not necessarily mean it is fair to categorise them as a boring person. Perception of dullness is wholly subjective.

If I'm honest, I have no interest in people who you described either, but I think it's unfair to call them boring because I personally am not interesting in binge drinking or watching football.
I very much doubt that there are people who genuinely 'hate' humanity. Misanthropy just seems to be an indie, edgy way of saying 'Lots of people are superficial boring dicks, I'm so genuine and enlightened as to the state of humanity hurr durr'. Reeks of superiority imo.

Anyone who claims to be a misanthrope may hate aspects of humanity - the shallowness, selfishness, cult mentality, predisposition to violence etc etc but they would be deluding themselves if they were to say they had a generic hatred for the whole of humanity. Does a 'misanthrope' know everybody on earth, their motivations, feelings and personalities? Of course not. How can everybody be tarred with the same brush?

Oh cool, me too. I'd prefer to stick to myself than to go out of my way and socialise.

I wouldn't say I think that at all. The majority of the population is considerably less educated than what I'd deem acceptable, in my opinion. I consider everyone as quite interesting, some of them you might have the best conversations of your life with.

Why do they need to be educated to be interesting? :dontknow:

If you want to know something, read a book, possibly by yourself

I agree with this.

Imo any hate towards groups of people or society in general is probably someone's insecurity regarding an event in their life were they were ousted from some kind of group. This could probably happen even at a young age because it is purely primal. The stance may also come from a person's inability to be accepted by fellow peers. The common complaint of "I hate people" is usually a symptom of people hating them; and their inability to be valued or useful to peers, friends and people in general. People who haven't found their place, if you will.

It's the only way of explaining someone's irrational dislike/hate of people they don't know and haven't met.

I didn't say that, if anything that would make them less interesting

What book would I read? I'm more of a TV show/solo gamer type of guy.
I'm pretty sure that the feeling is mutual.

Or you just don't agree with what they do? For example I hate al quieda, using your logic that's because I'm insecure I'm not a member?

also this shows the hilarious arrogance of " normal" people. "NO ONE CAN POSSIBLY NOT WANT TO BE LIKE ME.IM SO UP MY OWN ASS THAT I CANNOT FATHOM THAT SOME PEOPLE MIGHT GENUINELY DISAGREE WITH WHAT I DO" it's pathetic

Some people just aren't people people (too many peoples in that sentence).

Just means that when you meet people you actually like, it's all the more of a satisfactory feeling

I dislike a lot of people. I'm in the horrible juxtaposition that I love people...but most people around today are *******s. I'm a people person but the average person is so annoying

Lol the average person is dumb, that's the problem.

I like open-minded non-judgemental people who can have a conversation about something other than 'The Only Way is Essex' or whatever the hell it's called. Why can't people understand what's actually going on around them in the world? Sigh.

Oh well, at least I have my own circle of cool people and at least people in general understand humour, most of the time.
Wow, OP is on the next level of edge.
