AQA AS Biology Unit 1 21st May 2014

Hi, what did everyone think of the exam? Any especially tricky questions?

I want to get a feel for what the grade boundaries are going to be :smile:

What did everyone put for the dogs beats per min?
I did the calculation of 60/0.48= 125 bpm

Also, when labelling the organelles for glucose absorption, did you write 'villi' or 'microvilli'?

I found it pretty good! The 5 markers were good-

However I didn't like the Antibody Question on how they tested that 4% of people had the whooping cough antigen?!.. what did you put?

I labelled it as microvilli and the calculation I have no clue because I'm rubbish at calculations!

overall not too bad! :smile:

I got 120 beats per minute and so did 4 others that I know. Could definitely be wrong though.

I labelled it Villi!!

Didnt like the whooping cough or the amylase yoghurt one? Any ideas?

Im an A2 student doing a retake, i found the paper quite good to be fair..

I put 120bpm (although unsure), and microvilli.. Im pretty sure you would get the mark for just villi as long as you justified it, A2 you probably wouldnt get the mark though.
