Ive done a few sums like this.Theirs something about different means...Could someone explain this to me?a true mean and a coded mean???

You don't need coded means as such, rather the maths behind them.
You need to expand etc. and plug in the values you know.

expanded would be 18x-90 right?

It would be , where is the mean.

There's no requirement to expand that, you're told what it equals.
You do however need to expand . Expand the brackets first.

in sums like these,when they ask to find the standard deviation,I have to use the coded mean(or is it the true one,cant remember) right?When you code data linearly (i.e. aX+b), this alters the mean and the variance / standard-deviation.
So, it depends what's being asked for.
If you're working out the variance of the coded data, you use the coded mean.
