Title says all. What does N.B. mean? It's everywhere in the mark schemes (Edexcel chem)

It stands for 'nota bene' which is Italian for 'note well'

Basically saying it is important.

It is probably from the Latin, nota bene, meaning "note well", rather than the Italian, nota bene, meaning "note well".

As the Red Queen said, "That's very important. Write that down."

Or at least I hope she did.
