How much interest are student loans?

I heard it was 5%? So if I get £40,000 of debt, each year my loans goes up by £2000?
You can log onto the student loans repayments website using your SF log on details to view your balanced owed and interest rate. It shows on mine as 1.5%.

If you are a post 2012 student it is RPI plus 3% while studying. Currently around 6%.

Well, I'm from Northern Ireland and mine is shows it as 1.5% and this confirms it:

But I think it depends if you are on loan 1 or loan 2 - you can check on the links on the page I have posted above. I'm not sure why there is such a contrast in the interest rates, 1.5% compared to 6%.
